Building for the future
Alongside its group-wide strategy to support team members in their pursuit of achieving the Certified Practitioner of Specialist Property Finance (CPSP), a cohort of team members from the Group’s three businesses; Sirius, Brightstar and Solstar are participating in the Group’s New Adviser Programme with the aim of creating advisers of the future whilst also supporting the aim of creating an even more diverse business.
This Programme harnesses the Group’s ethos of ‘Growing our own’, aiming to support colleagues from a variety of roles across the Group’s businesses on their journey to adviser and will be led by Group Chief People Officer, Clare Jupp and Head of Sales, Gina Blagden. The programme will focus on three broad areas: Knowledge, Behaviours & Skills and Qualifications. It will also utilise expertise from the existing Sales Team, create practical opportunities for course participants to engage in activities to develop their skills and knowledge whilst also supporting team members through industry qualifications.
The Brightstar Group has enjoyed huge success with its ‘Growing our Own’ culture which has been a vehicle for succession planning and strong staff retention. Indeed, 42% of the entire team have been with the Group for more than 5 years and 11 members of the team being Platinum Partners, having completed 10+ years of service.
Clare Jupp, Chief People Officer for The Brightstar Group, commented:
“This programme reflects our utter commitment to developing individuals to be the best versions of themselves. We are proud of our long history of outstanding investment into the team and this programme is an integral part of our succession planning and also our Diversity and Inclusion strategy. We are delighted to see a range of team members involved in this programme which should certainly help us to continue to challenge the stereotype that the mortgage industry is characterised by the male, pale and stale.”
Gina Blagden, Head of Sales commented,
I am excited to get underway with our 2024 programme and to support colleagues on their personal journeys to adviser status. This strategy of ‘Growing our Own’ has been tried and tested across The Brightstar Group and we have enjoyed outstanding success with this approach. I am proud to say that 50% of our team who have transitioned to Adviser via this route are women and this makes me personally very happy.”
